Wafting In The Wind

Wafting In The Wind

by Charles E S Fairey

As the frankincense wafts in the wind

My soul floats across the void

Like a kite high high up above

As I think of all the beauty I do love.

As the frankincense wafts in the wind

My soul floats across the sky

The birds chirp and sing content

As I think of the world so silent.

As the frankincense wafts in the wind

My soul floats across the plains

The smoke takes away life's pains

As I hope for sunshine without the rains.

As the frankincense wafts in the wind

My soul floats across the seas

How quiet the Earth does seem

As if it were all just a dream.

As the frankincense wafts in the wind

My soul floats across the pages

As the book's leaves tremble in the draft

I think of all the joys of the past,

Oh how we laughed and scorned

But now at the Last, cometh the Dawn!
